![]() ![]() ![]() The only Twinturbo Supra that ever got me was my friends heavily modified one that had 550hp a the crank. I raced only on the freeway since thats where i was most of the time driving going home in the middle of the night. This started a new era for me as I discovered that things arent always as they appear to be. I pulled away from the Twinturbo Supra which was completely stock in a close race at about 110 mph. I provoked this guy to race on the freeway so when he downshifted and started taking off I dropped 3rd and went after.Īt about 100 mph I started pulling away from this guy and 130 I was already several carlenghts still pulling.Īfter this race I saw another VR-4 Twinturbo on the freeway and the same thing happened so when I saw a Twinturbo Supra I said "Why not?" I was curious to see how much faster he would be than me and since no one was around that I knew it wouldnt be so humiliating if it was bad. One night when I was on the freeway that I used to go home on I encountered one of these legendary Japanese supercars. ![]() I wasnt racing the car for a long time since I didnt see a point in it, I would just get smoked. My Trans Am was clocked at a 0-60 time of 6 seconds and quarter mile in about 14 sec. I belived them since what the magazines said about these cars I shouldnt have a chance. I was told repetedly how the Supra twinturbo would just smoke my Trans Am and how the RX-7 would leave me in the dust since it was a 13 second car and I would never come close to an NSX because it costed $80000. I didnt know much about cars other than from magazines and roadtests. Back then the most hyped up cars were the Supra Twin turbo, Acura NSX, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Twin turbo 300ZX. I had a 89 Trans Am GTA 5.7 liter which had the L98 Corvette engine.Īll of my friends here were into cars as well. It reminds me of back in the day 10 years ago when I just moved from Europe. I have been following this discussion for a while and find it quite interesting. ![]()
